Most LED steering wheels read vehicle data through an OBD II connection or a dedicated control module. The OBD II system allows the steering wheel to receive real-time vehicle information, such as RPM and speed.
Once the data is received, the steering wheel system converts it into visual feedback. For example, when the RPM rises, the LED lights on the steering wheel will light up step by step. When the engine reaches the set shift point, the LED lights may flash to remind the driver to shift.
